Sandra Bullock Movies
Sandra Bullock is a popular screen actress, who has starred as the romantic heroine in many delightful romantic comedies and dramas. Though best-known for her comedic roles, Bullock has also shown her talent for dramatic acting in recent movies as well, and have continually managed to win hearts of her fans and audience.
One of her most recent movies, "The Blind Side" won her an Oscar for her brilliant performance as well as numerous critical acclaims, awards and nominations.
While her first dozen film roles were in small or unsuccessful movies, her big breakout role was in the movie “Speed”. It was this film which really established her as a popular and loveable, new actress. While not the main character in the movie, Bullock’s portrayal of Annie Porter, a bus passenger, who is forced to take the wheel of the hijacked bus, brings a great deal of spirit and strength to her role.
After “Speed”, she continued to make many films, which established her as one of Hollywood’s loveable leading ladies. Bullock earned her first Golden Globe nomination for her role as Lucy Moderatz in the romantic comedy “While You Were Sleeping”, which was released in 1995 and also starred Bill Pullman and Peter Gallagher. Bullock then played the lead in the star-studded, legal thriller, “A Time to Kill” based on the John Grisham novel, which featured Samuel L. Jackson, Ashley Judd and Kevin Spacey. This film was released in 1996.
Sandra Bullock Films: 2000 and Later
Bullock’s next big blockbuster hit was “Miss Congeniality” in 2000. Playing Gracie Hart, a tomboy FBI agent forced to go undercover at a beauty pageant, Bullock shines, bringing both wit and heart to this role.
The 2002 family drama/comedy “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood” is about writer Siddalee Walker, played by Bullock, who has been estranged from her melodramatic mother for many years. In an attempt to reconcile the two, her mother’s friends kidnap her and give Siddalee a glimpse into her mother’s past and why she is the way she is.
Bullock then played the wife of the Los Angeles district attorney in the critically-acclaimed drama “Crash”. This ensemble drama, featuring Brendan Fraser, Terrence Howard, and Don Cheadle, won the Best Picture academy award in 2004.
Sandra Bullock New Movie
In 2010 Sandra Bullock released three films. While the comedy “All About Steve” was a flop, both the romantic comedy “The Proposal” and the family drama “The Blind Side”, two very different and well-made movies, were successes. Playing Leigh Anne Tuohy in “The Blind Side” Sandra Bullock won her very first Academy Award for Best Actress.
Leigh Anne and her husband Sean take in Michael Oher, who is homeless and has been living on the street. Oher turns out to have a gift for football and with the Tuohy family’s love and support,
