Vampire Romance Movies
With the recent Twilight Series book and movie craze, there has been a resurgence of interest in films having vampires and romance. This popularity is also apparent in televison, where many vampire tv shows are being produced currently. But what characterizes this sub-genre? Vampire romance can be a variety of things, romance between a human and a vampire, a love story set in a world of all vampires, or even two humans in love, fighting off vampires. Basically, the common denominators are love and blood-suckers. However, the movies or books that fall into this category are not just limited to vampires and humans, but also in some cases include other supernatural beings, such as werewolves.
Vampires have always been a popular subject for books and movies. One of the all-time classic vampire movies was the iconic 1931 film “Dracula” where Béla Lugosi played the title character. Still to this day, images of Dracula bear some resemblance to Lugosi’s incarnation of this character. In the more specific sub-genre of romance and vampires, many movies have been made for in it for years, even though the popularity has spiked recently.
Here are a few of our top picks from this sub-genre. If you do not see your favorite below, please send us an email and we will try and add it to our list.
