Nicole Kidman has acted in a wide array of films in her career, so far, from romantic movies, to serious dramatic films, and also to several historical pictures.

In 1992, she was featured in the romantic historical epic “Far and Away” from director Ron Howard. In this picture, Tom Cruise co-starred, and in real life the two were actually husband and wife.

She demonstrated her vocal skills as the romantic heroine, Satine, in the elaborate and opulent musical, “Moulin Rouge!” from 2001. The film was directed by Baz Luhrman, with a cast that includes Ewan McGregor and John Leguizamo. (Our romantic musical movies article has more information on this film). Also, just a few years ago, Kidman starred in the larger than life, romantic historical saga entitled “Australia”, for which Baz Luhrman was also the director. The film was released in 2008, and Kidman co-starred alongside Hugh Jackman. Most recently, she starred in the moving drama “Rabbit Hole”, which premiered in 2010.
