Lopez is a multi-talented individual. She has not only made a career as a popular singer and dancer, but she has also established herself as an actress, as well. In recent years she has starred in several romantic comedy movies and chick flicks.
One of the first films which brought her a lot of attention was the biopic picture “Selena” about the well-loved and popular singer from Texas. Lopez plays the title character, and the cast also includes Constance Marie and Edward James Olmos. Gregory Nava directed the film, from a screen play which he also wrote.
However, if you are looking for a good and recent romantic comedy to watch, then we suggest “Maid in Manhattan”. Obviously, it is set in New York City, and centers on Marisa Ventura, played by Lopez who is a maid working in a ritzy hotel in the city. One of the guests at the hotel, a budding politician, Christopher Marshall meets Marisa while she was dressed up in a guest’s clothing. Both are instantly attracted to each other, and Marisa keeps up with the disguise, as the two fall in love. But how long will she be able to maintain this charade?
Just a few years ago, she starred in another biopic with her husband Marc Anthony, entitled “El Cantante”. In 2010, she starred in the romantic comedy “The Back-Up Plan” with Alex O’Loughlin.
