Berry, while she usually appears in dramas, thrillers and action flicks, has also made several appearances in romantic movies. Early in her career, Berry appeared on a few different television shows, such as “Living Dolls” in 1989 and “Knots Landing” in 1991. But she was also working in films, as well, appearing in the 1991 flick “Strictly Business”. Following that in 1992, she appeared with Eddie Murphy and Robin Givens in the romantic comedy “Boomerang”.  

Berry starred as real life singer and actress Dorothy Dandridge in the moving television biopic “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” which premiered in 1999. For her powerful performance, Berry won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for best lead actress in a TV film. Just a few years later, she won the best actress Oscar for her work in the romantic drama “Monster’s Ball”. In 2005, Berry played Janie Starks in the romantic period movie made for television “Their Eyes Were Watching God” based on the novel by Zora Neale Hurston.

Berry has also brought to life several superheroes, such as Catwoman in the flick “Catwoman” and “Storm” in the X-Men series of films. Most recently, she starred in the drama “Frankie & Alice”. She is also rumored to be part of the cast for Garry Marshall’s new romantic comedy “New Year’s Eve”, which is scheduled to be released in December of 2011.
