Chick Flicks 2009
For this list of the top chick flicks from 2009, we again found that there was lots of good variety. There are several films on this list which are based on the lives of real women. A few of these were period dramas, like “Coco Before Chanel” which gives the viewer a glimpse into the life of Coco Chanel before she became the iconic fashion designer we know and recognize today. “Amelia” portrays Amelia Earhart’s rise, her career and her life, until her last flight and disappearance. Another film which shows the rise of a famous figure is “The Young Victoria” showing the early years of Queen Victoria’s reign and her marriage.
“Julie & Julia”, unlike the other films, is not centered entirely on chef Julia Child. This flick is based on two real-life stories, one depicting part of the life of Julia Child and the other following the adventures of modern-day Julie Powell who is cooking through one of Child’s cookbooks.
For fans of Jodi Picoult’s novels, they may be interested in seeing the screen adaptation of her popular work “My Sister’s Keeper”. Another adaptation of a book to the screen was “Confessions of a Shopaholic” which was written by Sophie Kinsella.
All of the flicks listed below are arranged chronologically by their release date. If you feel like some films are missing, they may be on our list of the romance flicks from 2009.
